For the past
25+ years, Amy has worked in
the field of Commercial Architecture as an Interior Designer and Design
Director. She has worked for Gensler, HNTB, as principal of her own
architecture and interior design firm, and as Design Director for a
venerable Steelcase Dealership in the Midwest. She has worked on
projects ranging from the 1,000,000 + sq.ft. Indiana Government Center,
to a 850 sq. ft. coffee kiosk prototype. Amy is
a Certified Professional Coach, a professional
member of IIDA, NICDQ and is a LEED AP.
The choice
of Life Coach came naturally to Amy after spending so many years
helping to nurture and mentor young designers, architects and the
associated professionals that are such an important part of the
collaborative architectural process.
- From a
Manager of Architecture: "Recently
I had a major career decision that would definitely impact the
direction my career would be heading and the lifestyle I would live
relating to it. I had been debating the idea in my head and went over
many choices with good friends and family, but needed advice from
someone who knew the profession, and knew what I was looking for.
I needed someone from the outside that could help lead me in
the
right direction. From past conversations, I knew Amy had
given
others in our profession solid advice and that she understood the
architecture/design profession. Amy asked questions that
helped
me to understand what I wanted and what I was looking for. She was also
careful not to influence me, but listen to what I had to say and helped
me to clarify my thoughts. The next day, confident that I had
made the right decision, and smiling on the inside, I presented my
conclusion to the powers that be within my company. Now
almost
three months later I am equally satisfied with the decision I made and
with my life. The road of life leads us all in many different
directions and sometimes we need someone to help us understand the map
and just where the different paths may lead."
- From a
Senior Project Manager: "Amy
is an exceptionally intelligent individual with compassionate and
caring ways. There have been many times that Amy has helped me over the
years with her insightful counsel. She truly listens, which
at
times is all we really want. Then again, there are times where
intuitively, Amy seems to know to dig deeper. Amy works with
you,
using her wealth of experience, her spot-on intuition, and her zeal for
life to help you achieve your goals. Amy has helped me grow
personally as well as professionally for which I will be eternally
grateful. I consider her a coach, as well as a mentor, but
mostly
a friend. What more can you call someone who helps you in all aspects
of your life?"
- From Dr.
David Krueger, CEO Mentor Path: "I
have had the privilege of collaborating with Amy Ramaker in her work as
a Professional Coach. I have observed her in coaching roles
with
varied clients, ans as she evaluated and guided other coaches in their
work. Amy brings considerable ability and background to the
Professional Coaching field. Her expertise and experience as
a
business owner, in corporate positions and in architecture/design
uniquely positioned her to become a Professional Coach. Her
powerful engagement with people synthesizes and applies the substantial
experience and training she has had. I unequivocally recommend Amy as
a highly accomplished professional."
